Customized field termination is now made possible for all environments, including outside plant, with Sumitomo's Lynx-CustomFit Splice-On Connector.
It provides advantages over conventional termination menhods, namely preterminated jumpers and mechanical splices.
The Lynx-CustomFit Splice-On Connector eliminates the need for maintaining an inventory of precise and varying lengths of preterminated jumpers, allowing the field technician to customize the OSP termination in the field, ensuring quick and accurate connectorizations.
It also elimiates the added space or cost required for a splice tray.
Unlike mechanical splicing methods, which require index matching gel with a limited shelf life, the Lynx Splice-On Connector provides a quick method of permanently splicing a factory polished conector without hazardous adhesives.
Moreover, fusion splicing the connector generates superior results over mechanical splicing with less back reflection and lower insertion loss(typicaly 0.05dB or less for fusion splicing versus 0.3 dB for mechanical splicing).
