Sumitomo’s Reel-in-a-Box solution allows for quick and easy deployment of FTTx cables. The lightweight packaging increases transportability and eliminates the need for equipment that handles larger quantities of cable. This compact package reduces the need for slack storage of bulk cable when deploying your FTTx network. The package also allows the storage of cable in a small area, making it readily available for emergency restoration use.

DriTube ribbon optical cables feature a dry water block yarn design that eliminates cable flooding gels, thereby eliminating the cleaning and blocking preparation steps associated with standard gel-filled cables. By eliminating these steps, the use of DriTube cable speeds overall installation, termination, and splicing while reducing labor and material costs.

DriTube cables are craftsperson friendly, lighter in weight than conventional gel-filled cables, and allow for easier cable handling and longer installation pulls — especially for mid-span and cable-end entry applications. The cables are especially ideal for duct, buried, and lashed aerial installations.
