Loose Tube Cables

Engineered to Perform...with Fibers Yielding the Industry’s Most Reliable Transmission

Robust performance, easier fiber access and prep, lighter weight designs for ease of handling, and a variety of gel-filled and 100% dry, gel-free cables are some of the many reasons installers prefer Sumitomo Electric Lightwave’s RoHS compliant loose-tube cables.  With outstanding construction and performance, Sumitomo loose-tube cables, available in a wide variety of fiber counts, are ready to withstand harsh environmental and climate exposures for direct buried, aerial (lashed and self-supporting), duct, or any of your most challenging installation requirements.

Dedicated to continuous innovation that lowers deployment costs, while increasing productivity and efficiency that give our customers a competitive edge, we’ve recently  introduced the  DriCore® Armorlux™ Extra that serves as both a distribution and drop cable for extra reach, extra bending, extra flexibility, extra protection,  and much more.

Since cable performance depends upon the quality and reliability of the optical fibers within its construction, your loose-tube cable of choice is manufactured with Sumitomo’s world-renowned optical fiber made by the fully synthetic Vapor Phase Axial Deposition (VAD) process.  This process, plus a dual layer acrylate coating over the cladding, makes Sumitomo optical fiber better for all forms of connectivity, including fusion splicing — with the lowest attenuation and the industry’s most reliable transmission for your network’s optimum performance.
